Golden Star Mall opens at 9, closes at 9. By day, it buzzes with awkward pop music, discounted shoes, and the smell of fried sugar.
But after hours, it empties out. And that’s when she arrives.
Every night. Never late.
She walks the tiled halls in a wide pink blouse, a dark green skirt, and clean white sneakers — as if she got ready for a night out in 2009 and never made it home. Her hair hangs low over her face, but not enough to hide her eyes. Especially not from the cameras.
Because she looks straight at them.
Not constantly — just once in a while. Like she knows they’re there. Like she knows you’re watching. And for a moment, it feels like she’s not the ghost. You are.
Back in life, she was Tasha Luxe — a local celebrity, the face of a perfume called Eau de Minuit. She filmed ads right there in the mall, twirling by fake fountains, whispering, “A scent that stays with you.”
It did. For all the wrong reasons.
The perfume was pulled within weeks. Too strong. Too strange. Too something. Tasha vanished from the ads, then from the mall. Rumor said she locked herself in the stockroom and never came out.
Now, she walks the upper floor after dark. Not holding anything. Not saying anything. Just passing the old perfume displays, where the scent still seems to hang in the air — soft and sour, like memory turning bad.
She doesn’t touch a thing. But the cameras always catch her.
And she always makes eye contact.
One cleaner quit on the spot after reviewing footage. Said she blinked at him. Said the footage glitched — but her eyes didn’t.
